Veranda Magazine’s July/August issue features the beautifully restored home of Canadian designer Philip Mitchell in Chester, Nova Scotia. Our period Gustavian chest of drawers in worn blue paint can be seen in the third floor guest bedroom.
Mitchell and his husband, advertising exec Mark Narsansky, rescued the 18th century White Cottage from the developers, then spent 2½ years disassembling and rebuilding it, restoring its original features and replacing those removed by earlier owners. The result is a must-see, full of antiques, beautiful finishes and family collections. Oh, for an afternoon on the deck, glass of wine in hand, as the sailboats glide by below!
