Swedish Tall Case Clock from Småland
Tall case clock, Sweden circa 1830, from the province of Småland. The case has a simple crown above the rounded glass and carved ring over the clock’s face. The beautifully curved body has a window in the “belly” for viewing the gilded pendulum and a sunburst carved into the base. The clockworks are typical of those produced in the town of Mora and have been newly cleaned and adjusted. The two-tone bells chime the hours.
