Late Gustavian Secretary with Glass Fronted Library
Swedish secretary from the late Gustavian period, circa 1820, in two parts. The upper library section has a molded cornice with dentil detail over a pair of glass doors. Inside are two adjustable shelves. The lower section has a fitted, slant-front desk over four drawers with brass pulls. The interior of the desk features two banks of drawers, with smaller drawers on either side of a central compartment which has a small interior drawer. The entire piece rests on a compressed bracket base.
