Early Swedish Secretary in Black Paint

Late Gustavian secretary in two parts, Sweden circa 1820. The upper section has two doors with raised, reeded lozenges under a molded cornice. Inside are two fixed shelves, the top one having notches for spoons. The lower section has a slant front opening onto a fitted interior with four reeded drawers and a locking compartment with reeded lozenges on the doors. Below the writing surface are two small drawers and three larger full-width drawers with graduated depths. Simple bracket base. Original hardware.
