Beautifully Painted Clock from Hälsingland
Swedish tall case clock in original decorative paint, circa 1830. The original works with signed dial are from the village of Mora and were probably carried back to Ljusdal where the case was made. The bonnet is topped with a carved urn finial, and the body features bows and a foliate swag above the sunflower carving around the pendulum window. Below the “belly” is a row of stylized bellflowers. The clock has been newly cleaned and adjusted and keeps good time.
