Gustavian Clock Cabinet

Unusual Gustavian cabinet with integral clock, Sweden circa 1810. Certainly a rural interpretation of the popular urban pieces of the period, the upper cabinet doors have raised, reeded lozenges and interior shelves on either side of the chase for the clock pendulum and weights. The four lower drawers have raised circles with horizontal reeding. The clockworks are typical of those produced in Mora at the time, but the dial is signed “Paris.” Later base.
