Tall Case Clock in Original Paint

Carved tall case clock from Norrbotten in northeast Sweden, ca.1790. The carving at the base shows the display of spread tail feathers of the blackcock, or European grouse. Further up the clock, two blackcocks are shown on potted evergreens, one flanked by two admiring hens. Wonderful carving and rich color.
